Calendar for 2008
Saturday, December 22, 2007
As usual around this time of the year I have made next year’s calendar available as a PDF-file for you to download and print.  Holiday greetings to everyone and best wishes for 2008!
Photoshop actions
Sunday, July 22, 2007
Today I am going to share with you some of the Photoshop actions that I use on an every day basis.
You can download them here: Irstamek-tricks.atn.
The actions palette on the right shows you what they look like in button mode (use the flyout menu in the upper right corner to activate button mode).
Some of the actions have been concocted from various descriptions on the Internet so I may have missed some credits.
Canon cheat sheets
Saturday, June 30, 2007
When you’re on a photo job - whether it’s in the mud looking for a bird or in a suit looking for the bride - it’s not always possible to carry all the manuals.
So I thought: why not create small summary cards that I can have in my wallet?
The first one is for the Canon 580EX Speedlite. Page 28 of the manual gives the table for all the Custom Functions. If you don’t remember the numbers, it’s pretty much impossible to know which Custom Function you are changing. So print out the PDF file below and stick it in your wallet until next time.
I am interested in hearing about other topics for cheat sheets. Email me at kjepo@yahoo.com!
More wallpaper!
Thursday, June 14, 2007
Today I am making two more images available for wallpaper downloads.
The wallpaper now come in three different sizes, 1900x1200, 1680x1050, or 1280x1024 pixels. Hopefully one of them will match your screen’s aspect ratio.
Please do not use these for prints as the quality will not be guaranteed and my name appears on the image. Also, these images may not be used for any commercial purposes. If you like to order prints, please go to the Prints section.
Announcement: Pixopolis Book Designer
Monday, May 28, 2007
During the last two months I’ve been working on a set of Photoshop Actions and Javascript code to assist with book design. If you’ve seen one of our wedding books you know that we avoid using standard templates and rather customize the layout for our clients.
If you also design books, the Pixopolis Book Designer (PBD) will greatly increase your productivity, and perhaps quality. Because all images on a page are stored as Photoshop Smart Objects, you can move, scale, and rotate your images around as much as you want without having to worry about loss of quality.
Actions are provided for creating blank page spreads for popular book formats. Images are then selected in Bridge and dropped on the blank page by just selecting a special Pixopolis menu.
While in Photoshop, images can be moved around like on a light table. Borders and drop shadows can be added easily.
Once the page is finished, simply hit the Save button and three files are saved: your original PSD-file (if you need to go back and make changes) and the left and right pages, as level 12 JPEG-files, ready for printing.
This work has been in collaboration with Pixopolis, a well-known, high-quality book printer.
